Scenario(s):
We are utilising ISS’ Climate Risk Assessment tool to analyse portfolio alignment to a 1.5-degree scenario. This is based on IEA’s Sustainable Development Scenario (SDS) and Announced Pledges Scenario (APS) that show how portfolios either overshoot or undershoot the said scenarios.
We have set the following interim targets:
Baseline year: 2019
Target year: 2030, 2040 and 2050
Based on the methodology stated above, we will allow for the following overshooting levels until net zero is met in 2050:
2030: 30%
2040: 15%
2050: 0%

Policy on coal and other fossil fuel investments:
As a long-term focused investor, climate change is among the most significant global trends with positive or negative ramifications for countries, sectors, and corporations. It is also an essential aspect of our analysis of investee companies, including exposure to transition and physical risks and opportunities arising from the global transition to a less carbon intensive world with the ultimate target of net zero GHG emissions, including the phaseout of coal and other fossil fuel emissions. It is important to understand and ensure how the management of the investee companies integrates climate-related risks into its longer-term strategic thinking and planning, and that it sufficiently mitigates those risks to ensure the long-term resilience of the business model.
Through our commitment to NZAMI, TCFD and Climate Action 100+ we are committed to support the ultimate goal of net zero GHG emissions and limit global warming. This is addressed in our Responsible Investment Policy.
