Additional information
Proportion of AUM committed:
Unicorn invests in UK small cap companies which are generally less developed in their formalised reporting standards and net zero strategies. Engagement and ongoing dialogue with investee companies regarding environmental issues and hiring an internal ESG analyst to the investment team will help to improve our AUM alignment with net zero in the future. We hope to be able to revise this target higher over time as our companies are demonstrating signs of progress in this area. Following internal discussion and external meetings held with the IIGCC we felt that the following initial target was most suitable starting point which was both realistic but also ambitious. Initial Target: By 2030, 50% of total AuM across OEICs (excluding MTST) committed to be managed in line with net zero (meeting the criteria to be considered aligned with Net Zero by 2050).
Policy on coal and other fossil fuel investments:
Whilst we do not have a formal science based policy in place, historically Unicorn has not invested in coal and other fossil fuel investments both on investment grounds and ESG concerns and it is unlikely we will do so going forward.
