Science Based Target initiative for Financial Institutions
We are using the IPCC 1.5°C scenarios and the IEA’s Net Zero 2050, both used by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Policy on coal and other fossil fuel investments:
Our current and only mutual fund – the Vert Global Sustainable Real Estate Mutual Fund – invests in real estate investment trusts. There are currently no coal or fossil fuel companies in our fund.
We engage 100% of the constituents in the portfolio each year. In 2019, our engagement campaign focused on the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). In 2020, we discussed net-zero targets and goals. In 2021, we spoke with companies about the health and well-being aspects of the built environment. We have ongoing conversations with companies on net-zero pathways and asset-level sustainability plans.
